Counting up to 1000

Icon van de app "Tellen tot 1000"

The focus in this app is not actually calculating with sums but more developing a number feeling with numbers from 100 to 1000. You learn to count the numbers and place them in the right order from small to large. But also listen to the number and type it in on the screen. (Is it 193 or yet 139?). Then you also learn how to make jumps with different multiples. The goal is that you get a feeling how the numbers relate to each other and get the system of writing down a 100 number well under control. This is important before you start solving real sums. The 22 exercises are divided into 3 topics:

  • Listen to the number and enter the correct number.
  • Counting with jumps of 1, 5, 10, 20, 40 and 50.
  • Put the numbers in the right order from low to high with equal jumps.

The structure of the booklet

This app contains 22 exercises and 3 tests at the end. The design is made in such a way that you learn to count from 100 to 1000 in steps. First you learn to recognize the numbers, then we count with leaps of 1. Then jumps of 5, 10, 20, 40 and finally 50.

Listen to the number and enter the correct number.

In this type of exercise you first listen to the number, then type in the number and see if it is correct. First you practice the whole hundreds (eg 100,200,300), then the hundred tens (eg 110, 120) and finally you practice all hundred numbers (eg 110, 111, 112). If you have done these exercises, you can write down any number under a thousand.

Eerst leer je vermenigvuldigen met één tafel.
Daarna oefen je de tafel door elkaar.

Put the numbers in the right order from low to high with equal jumps.

In this type of exercise you will see a number of blocks each time, some of them have no number. The intention is to add the missing numbers in the drawing. In this way you learn the order of the numbers. We start with jumps from 1, but the jumps then increase.

Tenslotte heb je een test waarbij de je de tafel samen met andere tafels moet oplossen.

Counting with jumps of 1, 5, 10, 20, 40 and 50.

In these exercises we come close to calculating with large numbers. You see a number line with a jump. It is up to you to assign the number to which the jump is going.
